ALL REHEARSALS ARE VERY IMPORTANT AND MANDATORY!
If your child does not show for rehearsal they will NOT be allowed to perform in ANY of the shows!
Rehearsals provide the chance to find the venue, get comfortable on where children are dropped off for each show, and provide your student the chance to practice on the stage before there is an audience! Other than Music Box staff and assistants, no one is allowed to watch the rehearsal.

HAIR:

All performers must have hair in a bun.  You are welcome to make the bun creative (braiding, twisting, etc.) but it must be in a bun.  We recommend you ask your performer where they would like their bun to be placed on their head as it could make a difference if they are doing any tumbling in their routine/s. If your child’s hair is too short for a bun, please discuss with Miss Amanda other options.

MAKEUP:

Makeup is not required for anyone other than our actors/characters.  However, makeup can be very helpful to bring out your child’s face as the lights on stage can wash them out.  Easy makeup options could include some red or pink blush, red lipstick, and some eyeshadow. Makeup helps you see your performer’s face better and will help them stand out on the video too!

COSTUMES:

Costumes AND tights (if needed) were provided to you clean and steamed (as appropriate) and it is expected that they are in the same condition for the performance.  Please refrain from having your young one “play” in the costumes to keep them as “fresh” as possible.

TIGHTS:

If your child’s class is required to wear tights, they were provided to you in the costume bag, please check the bag attached to your child's costume.
All tights must match, please purchase new tights from The Music Box if you are unable to use the tights that you received with the costume (hole in tights, lost, etc.).

Tights for sale--$10 each.

NUDE LEOTARDS:
All costume changes are done either backstage (quick changes) or in the dressing room with other students. These areas are not private and therefore it is required that ANY FEMALE PERFORMER with costume changes MUST wear a nude leotard at all times. If you need a link to see nude leotard options please let us know.

Layering tights is a great way to help quick changes go smoothly also.
If your child has a costume change (whether it is considered quick or not) you will receive a personal email with instructions soon.
